Revelations for the Doubting Catholic
If you’re hungry for Truth, God provides evidence of His existence in a myriad of ways….

Welcome!
My name is Laura and I am a wife to a wonderful husband, mother of four, registered nurse, avid reader, and blogger.
We live on a farm in the United States raising Angus cattle, chickens and Kinder goats. Besides the farm, I love spending time with family, doing anything outdoors and going on trips to the mountains.

When I was a young adult, I fell away from my Catholic faith for more than ten years.
In 2016, my husband found Mother Angelica through our local Catholic radio station, and I could not stop listening–I fell in love with Jesus Christ and the beautiful teachings of the Catholic Church.
My search for evidence for the truth within the Catholic faith has brought about a two-book nonfiction series called, Revelations for the Doubting Catholic: Evidence of Truth in a Truthless World, for the countless “doubting” youth and young adults who were like me.
Book 1 is set to be released in the Fall of 2026. Thanks be to God! Both books will be available on the Good & True Media website, this website, and outlets such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Christianbook.com.

In this blog, I write about perennial and current events and how they relate to Christianity.
My goal is to show that by employing theology, philosophy and right reasoning, one can always find the truth.
I use top-notch sources such as Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, various saints, and sound philosophical, theological, and scientific research studies to back my claims.

What’s the point?
Why did I write these books and begin this blog?
The youth and young adults in our society are experiencing discouragement, and they hunger for proof of the existence of objective reality.
Scary stats
I discovered evidence of this in some scary statistics that reflect the dire spiritual starvation in our society today.
In May of 2023, then United States Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek H. Murthy, declared an “epidemic of loneliness and isolation” was affecting the health of Americans.
He compared its mortality rate equates to smoking up to 15 cigarettes a day!

In the report, Dr. Murthy said that religious and faith–based communities can serve as the antidote to our loneliness.
A 2024 Pew Research Center poll showed 28% of adults in the U.S. declared themselves as “nones” (no religious affiliation)–a 2% increase from 2019.
A 2024 Gallop poll revealed that only 21% of adults in the U.S. attend religious services every week, or almost every week.
This is down from 42% two decades ago.
And, according to the same study, as of 2023, only 33% of American Catholics regularly attend Holy Mass.

Drugs, sex and suicide
In 2022, the United States saw the highest drug overdose-related death toll on record at 109,680 people (CDC).
Sexually transmitted infections (STI’s) in the U.S. were recorded at 2.5 million between 2020-2021–with 55% of the cases affecting adolescents and young adults (CDC).
The suicide rate is also increasing: 49,449 people took their own lives in 2022–the highest number recorded in the United States since 1941 (CDC), and 3% higher than in 2021 (48,183).

There is hope
Yet there is hope. Generation Z (born from the mid-1990’s–2012, according to Wikipedia), is fighting back.
According to Word on Fire, an apostolate spearheaded by Bishop Robert Barron of Minnesota, young adult baptisms have increased 30-70% in Catholic dioceses across the United States in 2024.

And according to The Pillar, this trend is continuing worldwide. Countries like Sweden, the UK, Belgium, France, Australia, Mongolia, and Canada have seen tremendous increases in young adults turning to Christianity.
In Austria alone, there was an astounding 85% increase in Catholics preparing for baptism in 2025.
Turning to God–more specifically, authentic Catholicism–has become their rebellion.

The remedy foretold
The great Fulton J. Sheen once wrote in his autobiography, Treasure in Clay, Jesus Christ is only Person on earth whose birth was foretold thousands of years before He was born.
Jesus is still the remedy for our times because He is the Truth, and youth and young adults are actively searching for Him.
And why wouldn’t they?
The “Age of Imagination” has brought them nothing but confusion and misery, whereas Jesus offers clarity and freedom:
“…and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32).
This is the premise and purpose of this entire blog: to testify to the truth.
Poverty of mind and heart
Young people are the true “poor” of today because they are the most affected by the cultural poverty of truth.

My blog appeals to anyone who hungers for this truth, especially the young “doubting Catholic” searching for the source of his/her identity and happiness.
I do this by showing how and why his/her identity is rooted in God alone.
So check it out!
